Bondi New York ~ Central Park Blossom

Bondi New York is a new American brand. It is 5 free, which means it doesn’t contain any formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, DBP or toluene. I have also been assure that the polishes are completely vegan and cruelty free.

The colour selection is limited to 20 shades at the moment. For me there was nothing that stood out in the collection and said “wow”. The colours are pretty standard, and in my opinion nothing to write home about. In other words, there were no nice greens there ;)

The shade that I liked the look of the most was Central Park Blossom. It’s a lovely, soft peach shade that would work absolutely everywhere, from the office to a date to a wedding. It’s just one of those classic feminine shades that is never wrong.

The formula was both good and bad. Sounds weird? Well, it was very thin and runny, which is something I personally like very much (I know a lot of you don’t though!), but whereas the best polishes let you paint thinly and still get good coverage, I had to use four coats of Central Park Blossom. That for me is one coat more than I am willing to paint, and two more than I prefer. On the upside the polish dried quickly, so there was no gummy gunk feeling on my nails in spite of all the layers. These pale polishes can sometimes be a bit tricky formula wise (remember the nightmare I had with a-England Iseult?) so I am not willing to dismiss the brand based on this shade alone.

The Bondi New York polishes retail for $15, and you get a generous 15ml for that. The international shipping fee is a very reasonable $3.99, which is pretty great considering the recent rise in US shipping costs.

Nail Station ~ Vandalism Art 76

I have told you about Norway Nails previously, and here is another beauty you can get there. Vandalism Art 76 is a chunky silver and gold/bronze glitter that applies well. I have one coat as an accent over a base of China Glaze ~ Below Deck.

Nailstation ~ Vandalism Art 95

Vandalism Art 95 is the third of the polishes sent by Norway Nails that I’m showing you on the blog. It’s a chunky black and silver glitter in a clear jelly base. I wasn’t sure what polish I wanted to use as a base, but I decided on China Glaze Stella. You can never go wrong with Stella! The glitter was fine to work with, but some placing was required, as is usually the case with chunky glitter like this.

Norway Nails will be selling Nailstation and lots of other exciting brands to us poor polish-deprived Scandinavians. The shop will open 1 Feb, but you can visit the Facebook page as of now :)

Ozotic ~ 502

Today I have the second polish from Norway Nails to show you. This time it’s the beautiful multi-chrome Ozotic ~ 502. A polish this pretty really deserves a nicer name than 502, don’t you think? If it was up to you, what would you call it? I think I would call it Forest Fire! The polish shifts beautifully between warm bronze, green and red. The formula was easy to work with, and although the polish looked very thin to begin with, 3 coats were enough. This is a polish I will definitely try layering over another base.
Remember that even though the Norway Nails store doesn’t open its doors until 1 February, the Facebook page is up and running!

Picture Polish ~ Denim

This polish was sent to me for review by the owner of the soon to be opened new Scandinavian online nail shop Norway Nails. Norway Nails will carry some really exciting brands that can be tricky to get hold of here in this little corner of the world. We will see polishes like Picture Polish, Cirque, Ozotic, Nail Station and other harder to find gems. The shop opens on the first of February. Norway Nails also has a Facebook page that’s very much up and running already.

Denim is a pretty blue polish with fairly chunky, irregular glitter pieces. The formula was really nice to work with, and the polish looked perfect in two coats. The surface is quite bumpy as you can see, so if you like a glassy finish you will probably need more than the one layer of top coat I used.
